As a writer and editor, my favorite projects tend to be book manuscripts. I have worked as developmental editor, copy editor and line editor, usually with non-fiction projects. Some of the books I have been involved with recently:
The Cavekeeper's Daughter
by Nancy Boxer
Fiction, 2009
Thousands of years ago a tribe settled along the edge of Siberia. When
a massive tsunami wipes out most of them, the survivors head north
seeking a long-lost band of cousins and some semblance of normalcy.
But 11 year old Birdy doesn't want normal; she dreams of telling
the sacred tales no girl is permitted to tell. Other clansmen harbor their
own secrets. Her aunt longs to be noticed by the man everyone fears and
scorns. Uncle Rein is pushed into leadership, though he doubts he has
the skill. The brave hunter K'enemy hides a dark past which could tear apart
the fragile community. Antler is the only one trained to lead the ceremonies
and intercede with the spirits, yet he is still a child himself.
These unforgettable characters and others join to make a remarkable
expedition across Siberia, a journey that will bind them together as a people
and take them to a new continent - if they are careful, and lucky enough to survive.
